The Hunter Pace Results
Congratulations to everyone!
The October pace ended the season with another near perfect riding day, with a cool sunny day. The riders who came out to enjoy the day had a super trail to ride, with good jumps and lovely fall colors. The results of the final pace were mixed, as we had several riders give up their competitive times to come to the aid of a fellow rider. I was impressed and touched by the concern shown and generousity of our group. Note that I didn't say I was surprised, as it has been my experience that horse people are amongst the nicest people I know. I'm happy to report that the rider who took a tumble is fine. I do say thank you again, to those who lent a hand.
The final pace also meant that high point results were calculated, and we found that the races in open and novice were quite close. At the end of the day, after riders enjoyed some Big Loop chili and other delicacies, we were pleased to announce that the Open High Point Champion was Gayle Faulkner, with Reserve her partner Mary Thompson. In the Novice Division, Courtney Cahill topped the crowd as High Point Champion, with Jessica Nuhn as Reserve Champion.
This season was great fun, and we plan on doing the Paces again next year, with more new trails and jumps, so hope to see you all there. Check the website after the holidays, as we hope to have dates for 2008. Come and enjoy!
Congratulations to you all! Have a wonderful winter and holiday season. Thank you all for your participation and support. It has been fun to continue with old friends, and to make new 'pace' friends.

The September pace made for 5 (count ‘em, 5!) perfect sunny pace days for riding. We had a good turnout, and saw a few new faces. Some of our riders took the scenic route, but all enjoyed their ride none the less. A number of our riders took a gamble on the poker run part of the pace, drawing cards form buckets along the route. Lucky winner of the poker pot was Mary Thompson. Mary was competing with an additional problem of a ‘wardrobe malfunction’ but managed to hang on to her clothes, her horse AND her cards! Mary and her sister Gayle Faulkner went on to win the open division.
Our novice division was won by the threesome of Courtney Cahill, Diane Glogowski and Jessica Nuhn.
Our next ride (and last of the season) is October 13, Rain of Shine! Colors should be perfect and a scenic and fun ride is planned, with plenty of jump opportunities as well as great trails. We should have high point winners, in what has turned out to be a very interesting race this summer, for both the open and novice divisions. Hope to see you there!! We’ll send riders out from 9:00 AM until 12:30 PM. Come and enjoy!
Congratulations to you all! Hope to see you on October 13 for the next pace. Remember, we ride Rain or Shine!

For the fourth pace of the season, we had Sunshine!! The August ride was sunny and HOT! Most of our intrepid riders came early to take advantage of the cooler temperatures, but all enjoyed the ride and some even took advantage of a cooling off in the lake. Again this month, we had newcomers join us, and again this month, one pair took home the blue. Cheri Stady and Rita Besok carried the Blue ribbons home for the Novice division, while Bernice and Meghan Pierson topped off the Open division. The top four places in Open were all within a 5 minute span of the ideal time! Results are below.
The High point race is getting pretty competitive and with only two paces left, anything can happen in the Open division.
The September pace will have some new jumps, and trails and additionally, we will be having a Poker Run with the pace. Riders have an option to purchase a ‘hand’ of cards, picking up cards along the route. The best poker hand of the day will win half of the poker ‘pot’. Hope to see you there.
Congratulations to you all! Hope to see you on September 22 for the next pace. Remember, we ride Rain or Shine!

The July pace morning dawned clear and not too warm, with a light mist on the hills. By pace time, the sun was up and riders were heading out for a great ride. We are always pleased to have new riders join us, and again had new friends as well as old ones for this ride. Some of our riders enjoyed the challenge of the new jumps and all seemed to enjoy the trails.
Joe Russell and Megan Wheeler, first timers to the Loop won the novice division and the experienced and competitive team of Linda Kotlarsz and Toni Schueler took home the blue in Open. Dawn Smrek and Carol Nelson had a blazing time over the course, and thoroughly enjoyed their (short) time. Toni and Linda’s spouses treated the group to a super tailgate lunch after the pace, which was a lovely end to the afternoon. Results for the pace are listed below.
Congratulations to you all! Hope to see you on August 25 for the next pace. Remember, we ride Rain or Shine!

June 30 was another perfect riding day! Sunny, but not too hot. A refreshing change after the heat of the week before. Once again, we had some new riders join us, and took great pleasure in seeing their smiling faces when they got back from the pace. Morgan and Henry were both smiling after taking one of our larger jumps.
We started work on the July trails after the pace, and much to our surprise, found a storm earlier in the week provided lots of material for some new jumps. So, be prepared for a few more challenging efforts. Of course, we also made sure you could go around easily.
The results of the June pace are listed below. As it turned out this time, we had no novice riders, but the open winners were Gayle Faulkner and Mary Thompson with an amazing effort that ended up only 44 seconds faster than ideal time.
Congratulations to you all! Hope to see you on July 21 for the next pace. Remember, we ride Rain or Shine!
